Alcoholics Anonymous
is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
The only requirement
for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions.
Our primary purpose
is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.
Recovery
There is a solution
The tremendous fact for every one of us is that we have discovered a common solution. We have a way out on which we can absolutely agree, and upon which we can join in brotherly and harmonious action. This is the great news this book carries to those who suffer from alcoholism.

“NUESTRO LADO DE LA CALLE”
Estamos aquí para barrer nuestro lado de la calle, comprendiendo que no podremos hacer nada que valga la pena hasta que lo hagamos, nunca tratando de decirle qué es lo que él debe hacer. No se discuten sus defectos; nos limitamos a los nuestros.

Yo hice reparaciones a mi padre poco tiempo después de dejar de beber. Mis palabras cayeron sobre oídos sordos ya que yo lo había culpado por mis dificultades. Varios meses después hice reparaciones a mi padre otra vez. En esta ocasión escribí una carta en la que no lo culpaba y tampoco hice mención de sus faltas. Dio resultado, y por fin caí en la cuenta. Mi lado de la calle es todo de lo que yo soy responsable y, gracias a Dios y a A.A. — este lado está limpio hoy.
