Alcoholics Anonymous
is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
The only requirement
for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions.
Our primary purpose
is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.
Recovery
There is a solution
The tremendous fact for every one of us is that we have discovered a common solution. We have a way out on which we can absolutely agree, and upon which we can join in brotherly and harmonious action. This is the great news this book carries to those who suffer from alcoholism.

DIRECCIÓN BUENA Y ORDENADA
Empezamos a hacer el debido uso de nuestra voluntad cuando tratamos de someterla a la voluntad de Dios. Para todos nosotros, ésta fue una maravillosa revelación. Todas nuestras dificultades se habían originado en el mal uso de la fuerza de voluntad. Habíamos tratado de bombardear nuestros problemas con ella, en lugar de intentar hacerla coincidir con los designios que Dios tenía para nosotros.

No tengo que hacer más que mirar hacia mi vida pasada para ver a dónde me ha conducido mi obstinación. Simplemente no sé qué es lo mejor para mí y creo que mi Poder Superior lo sabe. Dios no me ha fallado nunca, pero muy a menudo me he fallado a mí mismo. Valerme de mi obstinación en cualquier situación tiene normalmente el mismo resultado que tratar de forzar la pieza del rompecabezas que no corresponde — el agotamiento y la frustración. El Tercer Paso abre la puerta al resto del programa. Cuando pido a Dios que me guíe, yo sé que, sea cual sea el resultado, será el mejor posible, que las cosas son exactamente como deben ser, incluso si no son lo que yo deseo o espero. Dios hace por mí lo que yo no puedo hacer por mí mismo, si Le dejo que lo haga.
